[wiki-standards] wiki API

So, around 2005, I looked at what web APIs were being exposed by wiki servers
for programmatic client interaction, hoping for some sort of standard
to develop. In this email, I confine my attention to APIs for doing
things such as getting and editing wiki pages, getting RecentChanges,
etc --- I am not addressing full "wiki page interchange", which requires not only such an API, but also a
method of converting wiki syntaxes.

In 2005, it seemed to me that the main alternatives were:

* http://www.jspwiki.org/Wiki.jsp?page=WikiRPCInterface2
* Atom
* WebDAV

I remember discussion on this topic at WikiSym 2005, but
unfortunately, I've been out of touch since then. I know there's been
a lot of work on Creole, but what's been
happening recently in the area of wiki web API standardization? Is there a standard now? If not, has there been any movement
on this front?

thanks,
  bayle
