Planning to attend the January 2006
RecentChangesCamp in Portland, and maybe
WikiSym 2006.
online since January 2002 because of wiki. I am so excited about the implications of thinking like wiki, or rather having my thinking easily transfered to the web. Nodes and links, all easily created.
I am interested in figuring out ways for newbies to understand wikis, I like MetaWiki, TourBusStop and WikiNode projects. My own SwitchWiki is for newbies, I hope that it can grow to include "wiki veterans."
I am joined by TristamShandy, DavidCary and others on the SwitchWiki (
http://www.worldwidewiki.net/wiki/SwitchWiki), currently hosted by RalfLehmann at WorldWideWiki. There is discussion for moving the project to either MeatballSociety, hosted by SunirShah or to a MediaWiki; or a transition at WorldWideWiki to a useable wiki and making the project the only one at that domain.
I am interested in any thoughts folks might have about the project. The first stage is an alphabetical list. This is fairly successful with basic list edits many times a week. I think the second stage has to include descriptions or CategoryTags or something, maybe SwitchWiki can be sort of a marketplace for wikis.
This is some food for me to think about… not sure about it, although I ''am'' tired...

http://www.roughtype.com/archives/2005/10/more_on_wikiped.phpI think now that I have slept, that I am interested in understanding the critics view of wiki-etc. My gut feeling is that web elitetists are railing against what they see as wiki elitists not listening to them, although this is a very quick gut feeling.
