Research on the use of company wikis. Sunday night at 7pm. I would like to meet people who are interested in talking about the following types of questions:
  • why do some people not edit others' work while others do?
  • why are some people more into refactoring and others don't do it?
  • why are many corporate wiki pages not accessible to most people in the company?
  • why do people contributing to company wikis often add their names?
  • do different types of tasks that people perform when using company wikis engender different types of behaviors (e.g., access rights, name identifiers, not editing others)?
  • how will the divergent knowledge that generates creativity be shared if wiki contributors are "too polite" to disagree with others on the wiki itself?
Not sure where to meet. Let me know if there's any interest. Otherwise, I'll drive down from LA on Monday morning instead of Sunday night.
