Hi, I'm Rick Lavin. I work in a faculty of environmental & symbiotic sciences, and I'm interested in using wikis to support learning (of science and English language). I really want to go to this conference but I'm astounded by the cost, and am unlikely to get attendance fees reimbursed.

Hi Rick, I'm glad you like what you are seeing so far of WikiSym 2006. I think it will be a fantastic event too!

One thing on conference cost: This is a non-profit endeavor, and we have budgeted to break even. I also think cheaper is better, but it isn't possible in this context. With in this context I mean "meeting the expectations" of people who usually go to events like this. (Which rules out taking a youth hostel rather than a hotel, for example.)

Help us get sponsoring money, and we can possibly reduce the fees in the future!
