Gerard and Ted had a phone call today. The grid looks really good, from our point of view. Yes, things still will move around a bit and that's fine. Schedule-wise, we'll have the opening on the 1st day after Angela. We'll schedule an "evening news" large circle that evening. On the 2nd day, if it's possible to take 10 minutes after the invited talk, we could have another large circle for morning news (no problem for people to wander off directly to sessions or for coffee, but good to have the paper presentations not start right away, to give this space). If there's been significant particpation in the open space sessions, then having a 2nd day evening news right before dinner would be great (don't need that dinner open space session to be planned - people can still use that time if they like). 3rd day morning news might be tough b/c of workshops, but this is no problem. Then the closing of the open space would likely be either right before, or right after Ward's talk, or alternative, could be right before dinner.

All of this schedule stuff will work itself out as the grid gets firmed up.

The other main issue at the moment is "invitation" which comes from "theme." Dirk, you said there was a theme that's not being used much for anything, yes? What is it? What kinds of questions do you hope that people will be addressing during the open space sessions? Maybe we can make a list of some possible questions:

  • What are the next steps with WikiSpam?
  • Is there a wiki Community?
  • Let's code XYZ right now!
  • ...
TedErnst

The overarching topic is "wikis and collective intelligence". It was used to select Angela Beesley and Doug Engelbart as speakers. We have not used it further. Dirk Riehle
